The difference between ghosts and spirits (video)

The unknown has always called for our attention and we happily followed that call and explored a lot of new territory. Exploring what lies behind our normal senses, in other realms or even in the dark is an adventure many of us a curious about.
More and more Ghost hunters, paranormal investigators but also a lot of horror movies found their ways into the media and therefore in our living rooms.

We see people talking to the dead, listen to Poltergeist phenomena, follow investigators to haunted places. We know that we are save over there on our sofa and not quite sure about what to make of all that?

Unfortunately or luckily people tend to believe what they see and often that is only half of the story. Yes, there is a life after physical death, yes spirit communication is possible and yes poltergeist phenomena can appear but….

Who is who and what does that mean?

In this video I try to give an explanation of the difference between ghosts and spirits.

Ghosts

Being trained by Spiritualists I came across a lot of things that I couldn’t explain in the first place. Experiences that blew my mind and did open up my mind to a new kind of reality.

I also learnt that there is a difference between intelligent spirit communication and the phenomena of ghosts.
Ghosts are energetic memory left overs which are still left in a property or in an area. These energies or better say energetic blueprints are not alive they are only shadows from the past. Silent reminders of what once happened in a certain place. It is possible to step into these kind of energetic memories even without our knowing and when we are very sensitive our mind and body will respond to these energetic left overs. We might feel, see or even hear things with our clairsenses. That means that no one else apart from us does see, hear or feel these things.

That can even be very uncomfortable feelings especially if someone died a tragic death, been tortured or abused. Stepping into the energy field of the property these memories will become alive again through our heightened senses. Therefore Ghosts are not alive.

Spirits

While spirits instead are very much alive in another dimension, on another frequency which is still invisible for our physical eyes. But we can sense their energy when they are around. And yes they also can produce physical phenomena to make themselves heard.

A spirit is an intelligent being and can respond to questions. The way of the response can vary of the spirits own conscious evolution on the other side.
As much we need to heightened our senses and tune into another frequency the spirits need to lower their vibration too, so that communication can take place. Often that happens through a spiritual medium.

It is very important to keep in mind that we are dealing with intelligent beings and treat the with respect.  Unfortunately through the media we got the impression that any spirits are bad, angry or just there to haunt people. But that is not true. Many spirits trying to make themselves heard because they want to bring a message across to someone. This message can include words of healing, comfort or some unfinished business with someone here on earth. Somehow it feels sometimes that both sides do have the desire to understand and make peace with each other so the spirit can finally move on.
Sometimes in cases of tragic events we can experience spirits that are confused, restless or angry. Some of them still trapped between the world or for some reason earthbound. I want to believe that even spirits need to take time to realize what happened to their physical appearance and they need time to adjust to the new surroundings.

Some mediums are specialized in helping spirits to find their way into the light and some people say that is nonsense.
I think that everyone needs to find their own meaning about that whatever resonates with you.

But most important let us not forget the difference between a intelligent spirit and a silent witness of tragic events – a ghost. So we might come a bit closer to the truth that we so long for.

Further Research

For people who are interested in some more research I can recommend the SNU (Spiritual National Union) in England.
It definitely has their own view on things but in general it is a very much down to earth approach to promote Spiritualism as a science, philosophy and religion ( Evidence for life after death).
Some of the best mediums are trained with the SNU and this was also how I started my training years ago. Many very famous people have been part of the SNU movement and contributed to spreading of the truth all around the world.

Arthur Conan Doyle about Sherlock Holmes and Spirituality (watch)

Arthur Conan Doyle’s Interest in Spiritualism

Arthur Conan Doyle became interested in Spiritualism as early as 1886 (Byrne 72). He read a book written by the US High Courts Judge John Worth Edmonds (1816-1874), one of the most influential early American Spiritualists, who claimed that after the death of his wife he had been able to communicate with her. Edmonds also met with the Fox sisters, known as the “Rochester knockers” and Doyle appreciated his account of the girls’ communication with spirits. (Lycett 138) When Doyle practised as a physician at Southsea, he participated in table turning sittings at the home of one of his patients, General Drayson, a teacher at the Greenwich Naval College. In his Memoirs and Adventures, he wrote:

I was so impressed that I wrote an account of it to Light, the psychic weekly paper, and so in the year I actually put myself on the public record as a student of these matters.

In 1893, Conan Doyle joined the British Society for Psychical Research, a society formed in Cambridge one year earlier in order to investigate scientifically the claims of Spiritualism and other paranormal phenomena. Other members of the Society included the future Prime Minister Arthur Balfour, philosopher William James, naturalist Alfred Russell Wallace, scientists Williams Crookes and Oliver Lodge, and philosopher and economist Henry Sidgwick (1838-1900) and poet and philologist F. W. H. Meyers (1843-1901). After carrying out a series of experiments, Conan Doyle became convinced that telepathy, or ‘thought transference’, does exist. In 1917, Conan Doyle gave his first public lecture on Spiritualism. Later he wrote books, articles and made public appearances in Britain, Australia and America to promote his beliefs. He held numerous séances together with his second wife Jean to communicate with members of their family killed in World War One and other spirits. On the summit of his literary fame caused by the Sherlock Holmes stories, Conan Doyle, decided to abandon writing fiction and devoted himself almost entirely to the study of paranormal. Doyle was convinced that intelligence could exist apart from the body, and that the dead could communicate with the living. (source – victorianweb.org)

Julie – What does faith mean to you? (Spiritualism)

What does faith mean to you? Have you ever question the thought of having faith? There are many people who do believe in God, a higher power or intelligence. The description of faith often depends on the individual culture and religion. While the more native cultures believe in nature and it´s natural laws they do not need to name it God or personalize it. That is different to other religions like Hindus, Buddhists, Moslems or Christians. They do believe in personalized forms and call them God, Allah, Buddha, or any other Goddess Name. But Religion can be understood as an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to an order of existence. (1)

Religion became a big word these days. People experience religion and going to church as boring, dogmatic or even useless. They are not able feel any connection to the things that people say during a service in the church. They are not able to feel God, nor what it means to be connected. Other people may say that religion and the church caused so many problems in the last centuries that they do not agree with it. Of course, there were many bad things done, but just because of dogmatic religious views. But that doesn´t mean that we still need following this path. Furthermore there have been a lot of non dogmatic religious views also being established since humankind was born. The Native American or the shamans all over the world do a lot of spiritual and religious practice without being dogmatic or even missionary. They celebrate their faith without harming anyone. Their world view includes living close to nature as well as healing with nature. This is their connection to God.

As you see, having faith or practicing your religious view does not always include to follow blindly what´s been said, or always believing what others told you. The native people can teach us a lot about our individual connection to God, as well as our individual way of life. Feeling connected to the world around you especially nature and it´s natural laws will help to live our life in balance.

Nowadays the People are more educated than ever before, science has proved many things and lead to a new understanding of the world. Because of that, the world needs a new understanding of religion and faith too. The old, dogmatic teachings are not acceptable anymore and this is the chance to rise to new spiritual dimension.

If we take a look at the modern social development, we realize that less religion and faith causes more and more an unnatural environment. This is full of selfishness, emptiness and heartlessness. The best example for that is the growing crime scene, increasing depression and the ambitions spurred the people to success, because there is nothing more worth than having money and earn more money.
What is on the outside is more important than what´s inside. And even if you don´t feel fine inside, don´t show it, better cope it, and fake a smile.
If we take a look at the native cultures we won´t find this problems at all. Because their faith is holding them together, showing them their natural way of life, without any doubts.

These days, humanity seems to fall out of its natural existence, unable to find peace, true love and a sense for individual needs.

Therefore it is time to go back to our natural needs, which also can be found in our ability to have faith.
If we feel unable to handle it all, why not put our deepest trust into God? Knowing, not believing, that he will arrange the best for us? This sounds so easy, but for most of us, it isn´t. How can people believe in something that has never been proved? Well, God don´t need to be a personalized Goddess, it can be more understood as the natural laws we are living with. These natural laws which create all life here on earth have already been proved by science and personal experience of many people.

Through increased technology, humankind gets more and more separated to the natural flow of life. Nature becomes something horrible, uncontrollable and at last a destroying power. But it is not. The endless life force is caring, loving and provides everything we need to grow. Every time.

The Spiritualist Movement offers a non dogmatic and absolutely unique world view. Everyone needs to make own experience to shape and deepen their individual believe and worldview. Spiritualism is not only a religion it is also a science as well as a philosophy and is open to everyone, no matter of religious view or race. Spiritualism offers the opportunity to find a unique way into spiritual connection and understanding without any dogmatic rules.

There are seven principles in this movement which act like guidelines and orientation in our chaotic times. These principles are offering a natural order of ethics and worldviews which are suitable for everyone, every time. My philosophy today is related to the first principle, which is: “The fatherhood of God” This powerful principle, gives a good understanding on how important it is to have faith and trust in life itself. We all live by natural laws and they are valid all the time. Only if we go back to our natural ability of having faith, we will be able to receive the power and the endless love which the fatherhood of God has to offer. All the time.
