What to expect from February 2018 in Chinese Astrology

When the wood-tiger meets the earth-dog

The water-ox retires and with him the fire-rooster. So we are not only at the beginning of a new month but also at the beginning of a new year. The earth-dog wishes us a “Happy New Year” and takes up his reign on 03 February 2018, 21:28h GMT. With him he brings one of his allies, the wood-tiger, that will rule over the first month.

The tiger is a courageous, powerful, bold and highly vigorous creature that loves challenges. He is prepared to take risks and does not like to be held back neither by rules others have made nor by any kind of convention. This can make the tiger quite impulsive or even rebellious. He wants to be free to do as he pleases and act as he chooses. At least once during his life he will throw caution to the wind and go off and do the things he wants to do.

He is honest, courageous and
often a source of inspiration to others, he is very charismatic and has his own point of view on matters. Equipped with a strong will and determination he sets out to reach his goal proceeding very energetically. His enthusiasm with which he does what has to be done is clearly visible.
He can be patient as well as he can be spontaneous. While watching and observing what he might want we can admire him for his cautious endurance. But when he knows what he wants, all of the sudden he jumps in, completely committing himself to having it, wasting no thoughts on possible consequences.

The tiger has a restless nature which includes an adventurous mind. This makes him a busy bee that does not stay in the same place for long. His enthusiasm with which he starts a project can soon deteriorate if something comes up that is more appealing. The tiger could be more successful if he would think things through thoroughly before he takes action.

The wood-tiger in particular is of a pleasant and friendly nature. His good sense of humour is something we can all enjoy. Not being as independent as his ‘cousins’ it is a pleasure to work side by side with him. However, his restless nature gets him easily distracted.
He is very popular and can enjoys the company of a large number of friends. They all keep him busy and see to it that even is social life is never boring.

In times when both, tiger and dog, rule over us we should spend as much time as possible with those who are dear to us. Shared trips, shared pursuits lead to shared pleasure. When new opportunities present themselves we should be quick to take them. Most of the time we can really benefit from what comes up at short notice. If we are able to keep our private life and our work in balance we will be on the winning side of the month that is ruled by two allies.

Time to find out what the signs of the zodiac are going to encounter when dog and tiger are in charge:

Tiger(*) (1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010):
You
can really draw on unlimited resources. There will only be little what cannot be achieved. In private life as well as in business life all signs point to success and letting visions become reality. Keep yourself from overspending.

Rabbit(*) (1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011):
G
et your share of the big cake. But to be cautious at all times and make sure not to act
recklessly. The tiger’s explosive nature can have such effect on the rabbit’s peaceful nature. Let your friend, the dog, guide you.

Dragon(*) (1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012):
The month will come up with a lot of activities, changes, volatile relationships. Keep your life balanced between fun, social events, new opportunities and worries, anger about plans obstructed by others, or any stressful situation.

Snake(*) (1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013):
You won’t be able to pull all the strings, most of the time difficulties and calamities may result from the actions of others. It is utterly important to know who you can trust. Do not start anything without a plan B.

Horse(*) (1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014):
Hard work really pays off. Keeping a low profile is definitely not what is called for this month. Your allies, the tiger and the dog, can support you best when and where others can see you. You are definitely on the sunny side of the month.

Goat(*) (1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015):
Enjoy your journeys wherever they may take you. There will be a lot of movement, there will be a lot of moving experiences. Be focused and disciplined and have a realistic view on matters. Watch out or the new month will become more expensive than it should.

Monkey(*) (1908, 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016):
Being safe is still better than being sorry. Who is in a hurry should make a detour. It helps to economise your own strength. Keep a low profile as long as your opponent, the tiger, rules the month.

Rooster(*) (1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017):
Exciting changes may happen. It is up to you to appreciate them as ‘good’ or curse them as ‘bad’. Think before you act. Making the wrong move is only one way of asking for trouble. Sobriety and inner peace make all the difference.

Dog(*) (1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018):
The omens are favourable, all signs point to success. Tailwinds give you the right momentum to accomplish many things successfully. No sweet without sweat, mind you. But it’ll be worth it.

Pig(*) (1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007):
Exciting times are forseen, some may be challenging, some enthralling. New opportunities lead to advancement, locally and further afield. Do not overspend and be very cautious in all financial matters.

Rat(*) (1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008):
Some events might be irritating or confusing for you. If “Plan A” does not work . . the alphabet has many more letters to offer. Practise the secret art of common sense, choke back your anger and the month will be on your side.

Ox(*) (1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009):
The
month will be very rich in variety. Being prepared will not prevent things from happening, it will help you getting the most out of things that happen. Feel and obey the obligation to keep your balance. If you manage you can have a promising time.

As usual, we all should keep in mind that there are a few days on which we should not do important things.

When it comes to long-ranged projects they should not be started on 05 February 2018, not on 17 February 2018 and not on 01 March 2018. Regarding short-ranged projects we have to step back on 09 February 2018 and on 21 February 2018.

May we act in time, may we find the right balance in everything.

(*) for this kind of analysis we work with the solar calendar. With a satisfying accuracy we can say that all years start on 04 February. This means that e.g. a person born on 31 January 1983 is born in the year of the dog as the year of the pig starts on 04 February 1983. In consultations I certainly work with the exact dates and times.

Capricorn by Franco Santoro

pic by healingstars.com

The sign Capricorn is rather controversial and complex as it represents the doorway into spirit and the relinquishment of the separate illusion of duality. The entrance of the Sun in Capricorn also coincides with the Winter Solstice, which is both the peak of darkness and the emergence of Light, the birthday of the Invincible Sun (click here for details).

The Tibetan Master, Djwhal Khul, considers Capricorn as the most mysterious of the twelve and a very difficult one to define.“Even the symbol of the sign has never been correctly drawn, we are told, because its correct delineation would produce an inflow of force that would be undesirable; also this symbol is sometimes called the <signature of God>“.

At first sight the glyph suggests the form of a leaping mountain goat and the typical tortuousness of the sign. Such arcane nature makes Capricorn susceptible of major projections and misunderstandings, so that it is often seen as scapegoat and also as one of the less popular sign of the Zodiac (together with Virgo and Scorpio).

pic by hindivarta.com

The seasonal period of Capricorn coincides with the arrival of the winter sleep and the quietness that facilitates inner work and planning for the next seasons to come. It is the phase when trees are like skeletons and the Earth appears naked, although in its depth the seeds are at work aiming at a remote as well as certain goal. From a spiritual perspective this is indeed the time of the highest flowering as the seeds of Aries reach here the end of their nine months’ labour.

This sign starts with the winter solstice, also called Sol Invictus and the Gate of Heaven. According to some esoteric traditions there are two major gates: the Gate of Cancer (gate of men), which leads into the physical dimension of separation and illusory perceptions of this planet, and the Gate of Capricorn (gate of heaven), the one leading to the spiritual kingdom of unity. This can be passed once the identification with the ego personality is over.

It is during the darkest moment of life that enlightening experiences can take place as well as the possibility to move to another level. Summer is apparently the most abundant, luminous and happy time of the year. Actually this is only what the physical body perceives. Winter is a time of coldness, darkness, introversion, withdrawal. Physical energy is at its lowest and this weakens the ego which thrives on the available exuberance of matter. It is in this context that spiritual energy may easily reach its peak.

It is part of the awareness of many esoteric traditions that darkness, depression, grievances and fear heralds the arrival of light, love and joy. When the Sun enters Capricorn it reaches its lower position in the northern hemisphere horizon, the Winter Solstice, and this also starts the solar cycle of ascension.

Encountering Astroshamanism by Franco Santoro

The first of two pieces on astroshamanism, a type of shamanism related to astrology.

By Franco Santoro

I often like to see this world as a place where we come to find out who we are. We continue to come until we are willing to accept and release what we assume to be and who we truly are. To be alive, without knowing who I am, is a bit like being dead, since living involves being aware of whom is indeed living.

lionsroar.com

Ignorance and denial about who I am does not change the nature of my true identity, but it does split the mind into two parts – one that knows the truth and the other that does not know or denies it. And it is this split that astroshamanism, along with many other paths, is drawn to address and cure.

Astroshamanism identifies a form of spiritual healing based on the integration of shamanism with sacred astrology, ancient mystery teachings and more traditional religious paths. Astroshamanism is merely a term that allows me to classify this work, yet what counts is its content.

pic by pinterest.com

Central in this work is the ongoing release of conditioned ideas regarding who we believe ourselves to be. This release gives access to an area of unknowing, where we can unveil a direct experience of our nature. Most shamans and seekers concur that this process involves letting go of our perception of the separated self. This separation appears to be the ultimate cause of human sufferance, so we support the reawakening of our original united self, which many religious cultures describe as God.

For many people the term “God” has lost interest and in some cases it even produces strong resistance. In certain situations it is awkward to mention “God,” since this can easily give wrong impressions and cause prejudices. This is probably because some concepts of God trigger fear, guilt, and judgment. “God” is merely a term, which can take other names and forms, and even no name or form at all. What counts here is the direct experience of God, and of our true nature devoid of any assumption.

I believe that what most people on a spiritual quest seek today are not mere formalities, doctrines or creeds, but paths of direct experience. They search for a first-hand knowledge of their true self, or a direct encounter and communion with God. This is what shamanic work can offer and it is also the authentic essence of what most spiritual traditions pursue.

Journeying through the unseen

In his second article on astroshamanism Franco Santoro tells how the zodiac can be used…

By Franco Santoro

Astroshamanism provides a map and tools for journeying through the path of life in search of Truth. This is acted out by using a strategic cosmology based on 12 sectors. The sectors are associated with the astrological signs when used as representations of the fragmented parts of our nature.

pic by pinterest.com

The 12 sectors portray the entire range of human potentials and possibilities that the astroshamanic seeker accepts to acknowledge, explore and integrate in their original unity. They are pathways of deep understanding about all the features in life. They include the highest and the lowest forms, and their aim is to teach us how to express them at their best.

In astroshamanism the zodiac is not used for horoscope readings or other forms of interpretation, but is explored through pragmatic healing actions and spiritual practices aimed at providing a direct experience and tangible results.

Astrology is probably the oldest form of symbolic language and shamanism is the most ancient method of healing. The distinctive feature of shamans is represented by their familiarity with states of consciousness that allows them to explore the spiritual dimension of reality and to help their community, themselves and their planet. To face these journeys, shamans connect with healing guides, spirits, angels and ultimately God. The relationship with this unseen world is the chief distinctive feature of shamanic cultures and constitutes one of the main tasks of astroshamanism.

pic by astroshamanism.org

The connection with the unseen realms, far from being an evasion from everyday reality, is aimed at healing our visible world. I cannot see God or spirits with my physical eyes, but I can see them through other human beings and the environment, when I decide to lay my prejudices aside and meet them as they truly are. By unveiling their nature, God will be embodied in them and I will uncover their essence.

As I learn to acknowledge God through them, I will also learn to become aware of how God operates in me. In exploring the mystery of the unseen realms and God, or whatever name, we use to describe That.

pic by redbubble.com

What this work basically underlines is the healing function of forgiveness. Forgiveness is learning to perceive all relationships as a proof of our sacred original nature, rather than as sources of grievances. It is about letting go of the garbage I have projected on others, which in the end is the same garbage I have projected on myself.

Autumn Equinox Meditation by Franco Santoro

Please join us in celebrating the Autumn Equinox!

pic by leonwonderland.blogspot.com

This is an ideal time to come together to honour the balance of light and darkness. It is a time of release, transformation and renewal. Come and take time to clear and bless the past, allowing it to become fertilising compost for your highest wishes. For more information on the Autumn Equinox click here.

This is a distant healing open event occurring wherever you are in the world. It is also a celebration held in specific locations by groups of individuals, who you can physically join. Everybody who feels drawn can participate. Whether you take part on your own or with other people, the aim is to be both with yourself and others, while connecting with the deepest source of your being and Spirit, All That Is, God, no matter how you call That according to your spiritual beliefs and experience.

The event can take place at any time from 21 to 23 September 2017.  The celebration can last a minimum of 20 minutes.

The Autumn Equinox is the time when the Sun passes from the northern to the southern hemisphere, making night and day of almost equal length all over the planet.

In the northern hemisphere Autumn identifies the fall and completion of an old cycle. It is the moment in which the world or the environment that has been familiar to you, begins to fade away until it eventually disappears. The luminosity and heat of summer gradually dissolves and gives way to the time of increasing darkness.

This is a most intense moment of the yearly journey full of abundant blessings of transmutation. The leading challenge in autumn is to learn to die well to what no longer serves and be open to receive what truly supports your true intention and purpose in life.

Relevant questions here are: “what is there in my life that wants or needs to die? What ways of being in the world do not serve my current Intent and all that I am discovering through my inner work? What no longer serves me, my loving companions, the community where I live, the planet and the universe?”

pic by earthheal.com

Please find below some guidelines describing an example of an Autumn Equinox Celebration, which can be used if you are alone or with others, and do not know what to do.

Basic suggestions for an Autumn Meditation:

Guidelines:

In this Equinox Celebration participants come together in silent communion to promote an Intention of Light, Healing, Love, and Alignment with the Web of Life, releasing grievances and opening up to the presence of Spirit, as they understand That. The aim is to support healing and love at all levels, for you, the environment and all beings, including those abiding in other realms.

1) Stand relaxed with the spine straight, feet flat on the floor, facing West. Focus on your breath and connect with the space around you, the emptiness surfacing the edges of your body. Sense the whole environment and its void and fullness, allowing the void and fullness of the environment to join other environments, encompassing those of all the participants in this celebration around the world.

2) Place your awareness on both your right and left hand, as you keep being aware of your breath and the environment that surrounds you. while you allow the awareness of your hands and environment to progressively expand throughout all your body.

3) Consider all the luminous experiences you have had since the Spring Equinox, and express gratitude for them. Acknowledge your intentions, what provides joy, love and anything that you wish for yourself and others, and allow this to be held through the awareness of your right hand.

4) Let your individual intentions connect with all other luminous intentions, no matter how different they are, allowing each one of them to be part of the same Light and web of life. Connect with a luminous parallel universe, a Land of Light, where everything you wish is fully available for you and everyone.

5) Direct the awareness of your right hand, its Light and the related intentions to move gradually through your arms reaching the point at the centre of your chest, the Heart level and bridging the outer into the inner. Take some time to allow Spirit to operate.

6) Consider all the dark experiences you have had since the Spring Equinox, how you have coped with pain, stress and unpleasant situations and express compassion and forgiveness. Allow whoever and whatever in your present life is related with grievances or difficult issues to be held through the awareness of your left hand.

7) Allow these individual and collective grievances to connect with all types of grievance or issue, no matter how different they are, allowing each one of them to be part of the same Darkness and web of life.

8) Direct the awareness of your left hand and the related grievances to move gradually through your arms reaching the point at the centre of your chest, your Heart, and bridging the outer into the inner. Take some time to allow Spirit to operate.

9) Focus only on the centre point, the Heart, allowing your environment to be totally absorbed by it.

10) Be aware of your lower body (belly, genitals, legs, ankles, feet), including whatever is below, hidden, dark, till your reach the centre of the Earth, and connect it with your Heart.

11) Be aware of your upper body (throat, head), including whatever is above, luminous, up to the distant sky, to connect with your Heart.

12) Allow lower and higher, Darkness and Light, to be absorbed by the Heart, so that in the end only the Heart is there. Receive an unconditional blessing from the Heart.

13) Allow the outer to gradually emanate from the Heart and take the shape of your energised and renewed physical body and outer environment. Come back to ordinary awareness allowing the above process to continue for a few minutes on a more subtle level. Give yourself some time to fully return to ordinary consciousness, stretch, get up or walk around, drink some water, etc.

14) Acknowledge how you feel and what you experienced. Take notes about anything relevant for you. If you wish, share this on the Autumn Equinox event page.

The above process can last from 20 minutes to one hour.

Blessings, Franco Santoro

Chinese Astrology August 2017

When the earth-monkey meets the fire-rooster

With the new month a new season begins. The weather may not give us any clue but now autumn starts. Or to put it in more accurate terms: autumn starts when the fire-goat hands over responsibilities to the earth-monkey. This year this event takes place on 07 August 2017, 07:39h GMT.

monkeyland.ca

The monkey in general is imaginative, inquisitive and loves to keep a watchful eye on everything that is going on around him. He is never shy to offer his own opinion on all matters or to sort out the problems of others. The meaning of the constellation of the letters ‘n’ and ‘o’ that spells ‘no’ is unknown to him.

wallpapercave.com

He is very intelligent, well educated and always eager to learn new things. He is also a convincing speaker and enjoys being part of debates and heated discussions. He is very persuasive and has absolutely no trouble winning over people to his way of thinking. With that he is predestined to be in the PR-business, teaching or any activity that involves selling.

The earth-monkey in particular is a highly educated and a well read creature that can become quite distinguished in his chosen field of work. He is less extroverted than the other types of monkeys preferring quieter and more solid activities.
Blessed with an enquiring mind the earth-monkey can enjoy a great variety of interests. He is very good at dealing with financial matters and he is patient enough to gather wealth continuously and untiringly.

The calming influence he has on those who are around him is great and he is well liked and respected. His principles and moral standards are high, he is very much caring for others and generous to those who are not as fortunate as he is.

pic by addicted2success.com

He does not open up easily and he is very careful in choosing people who he can trust or confide in.

There will be many demands on us this month. Before making any decisions we need to check exactly what is asked from us and what the implications might be. Whatever we are inclined to do we should make sure that nothing interferes with our homelife or prevents us from enjoying the rewards for work well done.
It is highly recommended that we spend quality time with family and friends and to follow our own needs.

Now let’s see what the next month will be like for all the signs of the zodiac:

Monkey(*) (1908, 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016):
Enjoy and rejoice, a fantastic month is here to come. It is an excellent time to start new endeavours. Success in business matters is foreseen as well as tremendous progress in many other fields. You can really benefit from this month.

Rooster(*) (1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005):
It is now your turn to put your world in order. You’d better devote your time to this task This will help you to proceed courageously and puts you in the position to deal effectively with unforseen difficulties cast upon you by the ruling signs. A more sober and practical approach is the best approach when you want to be successful.

Dog(*) (1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006):
Expect a lot of activities and involvement in many fields. Projects may not run the way you planned but that should not prevent you from being enthusiastic. Keep your sense of humour if you have to begin certain things anew. Look at it as a good opportunity for a fresh start.

Pig(*) (1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007):
Social gatherings and affairs are very exciting. Look forward to them. However, do not let that good mood misguide you to become the victim of financial imposters with their ill-fated investment schemes. Guard your assets, be careful and mindful.

Rat(*) (1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008):
An excitingly funny month lies ahead that will present you with a lot of inspiring surprises. Your close ally, the monkey, sees to that. Hard work from the past bears fruit. Enjoy a very harmonious time with your family.

Ox(*) (1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009):
Do things your way and you will be rewarded. Stay true to yourself, stay true to your values, stay true to your convictions when facing adversities. The influence of the wily monkey may bring some discomfort.

Tiger(*) (1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010):
It will not be the most pleasant month that lies ahead. Unfortunately the number of those who can make life unnecessarily difficult has increased. Choke back your anger. Smile and think of doing something naughty, laugh when you’ve already done it.

Rabbit(*) (1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011):
Mind your own business and things may run smoother than you can possibly hope for. Expand your business slowly and continuously. Do not make risky investments, do not let your bank statement be a visual record of bad decisions.

Dragon(*) (1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012):
Fame and fortune are in store for you. Your close friend, the monkey, takes good care of that. Do not miss opportunities because they are dressed in overalls and look like work (Thomas A. Edison). Avoid quarrels and legal entanglements.

Snake(*) (1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013):
May you be guided by your innate wisdom and intuition. These are your guarantees for winning over the wild turmoil and extremes the monkey produces. New friends will be valuable in times to come.

Horse(*) (1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014):
Sudden gains and wild luck are the results of the monkey’s influence. The more you give the more you will receive. Travelling can be beneficial especially but only when you keep your eyes on the road. Be very careful when handling sharp metal objects or tools.

Goat(*) (1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015):
Life is like a rollercoaster, it has ups and it has downs. But it’s your choice to scream or enjoy the ride. Do not get swept away by big plans and wild monkey schemes. To remain calm and to remain neutral is the best piece of advice you can get this month.

As it is with all months again there are certain days on which we should not do things of importance.

Short-ranged projects should be started on 07 August 2017, 19 August 2017 and 31 August 2017, long-ranged projects not on 08 August 2017, 20 August 2017 and 01 September 2017.

May we make the right decisions. Not only this month.

Astrology and Astroshamanism by Franco Santoro

pic by astrospeak.com
In astroshamanism astrology is employed as a symbolic and strategic structure aimed at moving beyond our limited perception of reality.
The natal chart, the human psyche, the material world, etc. are here regarded as mere symbols. This means that they are external or visible forms through which I can perceive an inner or unseen meaning. The planets, the universe and all human beings exist at a visible level, yet beyond this context they have multidimensional natures and a core essence. The symbolic key is properly at work when we manage to perceive this essence beyond the visible or material form.
Transformation, meant as healing, integration or expansion of awareness takes place when we establish a rapport with what lies beyond the symbolic form and have a direct experience of pure energy and of its unity with whatever exists. In order to use astrology in this process, astroshamanism considers the natal chart as a reflex of the totality of the inner and outer world, or of shamanic and ordinary states of consciousness, rather than as a device aimed at inflating our separated self and all its personal issues.
pic by nickroney.com
Apart from what we think, or are conditioned to believe, we are, our authentic nature is connected with a specific Intent which represents the foundation of our true potentials and of all that truly makes sense of who we are. During life this Intent develops through various stages of transformation and key events that are fully relevant to our multidimensional self, although they may be incomprehensible for our ordinary personality.
The advantage of astrology lies in providing a codified language able to identify and define some of the basic components and dynamics of human existence. This language, when examined through a person’s inner experience, can promote a wide and clear vision as regards the direction of their cycles. In brief, astrology offers the possibility of understanding the energies at play and the opportunity of identifying, not only the modalities, but also the specific times in which they express and transform themselves during life.
The development of astrology dates back to the first appearance of man on Earth and has been developing ever since. The need of man to communicate with their fellows produced a series of gestures and sounds that was later translated into specific alphabetical languages. The need to transmit deeper meanings and to relate with invisible forces determined the birth and the successive development of the astrological language.
pic by janetritson-astrologer.co.uk

Astroshamanism employs the astrological language in its essential features as a strategic energy grid aimed at reawakening, stimulating and operating our multidimensional nature. In this context it is not necessary to consider the numerous techniques and methods of interpretation on which astrological literature thrives. The essence of astrological language is extremely simple. Its applications can become unnecessarily complex. And here it is important to be clear about what we want to do with this language, i.e. our Intent.

For example, if I want to write a text on a computer, I just need to know how to use the word processor programme and this will suffice to complete my task. I do not need to study other features of the programme, the software for graphics and algebraic calculations or the internal functioning of the word processor, not to mention the hardware. What counts is to manifest my Intent of writing a text. Of course, it could be useful to know a bit more about the computer and its various functions, especially when the machine does not work properly and prevents me from writing the text. And yet, if I still intend to write a text, in the event of the computer malfunctioning, I can still do this by hand or with an old typewriter.
The astroshamanic circle, or circle on the floor, is the primary astrological reference used in astroshamanism. Here the natal chart is reproduced on the floor in an ample circle where the person can directly experience the energy of the astrological signs. In astroshamanism the zodiac signs represent 12 energy centres, which strategically make up the complete structure of our multidimensional identity.
pic by astroshamanism.org
Once we learn to retrieve, reawaken and operate those centres then we are able to expand our awareness beyond the confines of our human arbitrary configuration and access what lies beyond. What lies beyond, our multidimensional self is always there, yet the demands of our social identity do not leave enough energy to be intentionally conscious of its existence. The astroshamanic circle serves the purpose of breaking the fixation of our awareness and gaining the necessary fluidity that can allow a tangible expansion of our perception.

All relationships are multidimensional by Franco Santoro

All relationships are multidimensional, unlimited by time and space, united and whole, part of the same ecstatic web of life.

Every significant individual we meet in our life is an emanation of multiple forces, simultaneously dwelling in different worlds.

pic by pinterest.com

When you see people as static categories, identifying them with fixed roles and functions, based on your trite or refined conditioning, you sentence them to death. And with them also your soul will be ultimately put to death.

Release all the prisoners you have kept in the cages of your separated mind, proclaim a general amnesty, liberate everybody, make them all free to be who they truly are!

Then, relax and finally embrace the ecstatic authenticity of your multidimensional luminous self.

Apart from the above, there is truly nothing else to do here.

Ancestors and Death by Franco Santoro

A warrior considers himself already dead, so there is nothing for him to lose. The worst has already happened to him, therefore he’s clear and calm; judging him by his acts or by his words, one would never suspect that he has witnessed everything.

(Carlos Castaneda, The Wheel of Time, Penguin, 1998, p. 121)

pic by dreamahawk.com

With the term ancestors I identify here all our lineage of relatives down into the origin of the human species and all the beings that have lived on Earth, the solar system, this galaxy and universe, not to mention what is beyond that.

Yes, they are quite a lot! Some are close and other are remote ancestors. Yet they all make up that huge puzzle of which our ordinary awareness is just a minuscule fragment.

According to different perspectives, close ancestors can be related with past lives or express through historical beings or archetypes that either inspire or disturb me.

The quality of being a close ancestor can be extended to divine beings, animals, plants, minerals, geographical areas, etc.

In shamanic and tribal cultures ancestors are honoured with great respect.

pic by digitalhistoryproject.com

An ideal time for connecting with them is autumn or fall, especially during the days in which the Sun is in Scorpio, and also winter.

Ancient people were much aware of their close ancestors and all their decisions were made by consulting with them.

When we address our ancestors we relate with the most ancient parts of ourself.

In such occasions we can retrieve images, events, memories and situations that help us understand who and what we are now.

In this way we become conscious that we are the product of a past which is not limited to what has happened to us since we were born.

If we authentically wish to explore the past and connect with our roots, it is essential that we are open to include all, especially those people and situations that we tend not to acknowledge.

“Some native traditions teach that our departed ancestors are old friends and important teachers of detachment because they have faced the process of death and have given themselves to the unknown. Many believe that these ‘ancestors’ stand fully behind us ready to help and assist us with our life dreams. Often, stories are told in our families where a close ancestor relative has ‘visited’ one of the family members to give them help and assurance in their time of need. Frequently these visitors come in the night-time, either just as we are going to sleep or sometimes in the middle of the night. […] It is entirely appropriate to seek the counsel of these folks directly, as you are tied to them by strong connecting cords. They have the wisdom of their earthly and heavenly lives, and in most cases are more than willing to assist you with your life challenges and dilemmas. You may wish to envision these ancestors as a council of wise elders who are there to give you good advice about your lives. Many believes that our ancestors are deeply invested in seeing that the ‘good, true and beautiful’ that is carried in our heritage is passed on to future generations“.[1]

Ancestors, besides giving us support and guidance, can also hold major grievances and pass down destructive models of behaviour or belief systems.

Such grievances constitute the root cause of all our current, as well as collective, problems in life.

In order to effectively heal them it is necessary to be aware that they emanate from ancient heritages.

pic by embracingspirituality.com

When strong conflicts develop among couples, lovers, friends, relatives, colleagues or people casually met, what actually happens is that the same conditions that once engendered separation and pain are being reproduced in the present for correction.

These situations are momentous for healing as they allow to face the opportunity to invert the trend of separation, to forgive and open up portals in my conscience.

These openings have inevitable effects on the collective awareness and on present or future generations.

Thyme for evoking departing souls and rosemary for remembrance are traditional herbs burned during ceremonies devoted to ancestors.

A typical musical instruments to call the ancestors are the claves or click sticks. They are two sticks of hard wood (generally rose wood) that are clicked together. Their function is to remind of the bones of ancestors and invite to halt the insane patterns of hate and separation that are still present in life.

“Oh may you be the one who will bring forward the good, true, and beautiful in your family lineage; oh may you be the one who will break the harmful family patterns or harmful nation patterns”

(An old European ancestral song).[2]

Ancestors are also connected with the mystery of death and what lies beyond it.

The period of Scorpio is a fundamental time for creating a bridge between the reality of my fellow travellers on Earth and those who have left their body or space suit to move into other worlds. Here funerals and mourning play a major role.

These practices can be powerful shamanic and transformative tools when employed with sacredness and focused Intent. In many tribal cultures funerals are major cathartic rituals where all kinds of grievance are released and not only those related to the departed. Unlike most people in western society, the Dagara of Burkina Faso (Africa), for example, believe it is terrible to suppress grief.

They assume that the dead have a right to collect their share of tears.

“A spirit who is not passionately grieved feels anger and disappointment, as if their right to be completely dead has been stolen from them. So it would be improper for a villager to display the kind of restraint and solemnity seen at Western funerals. […] Public grief is cleansing – of vital importance to the whole community – and people look forward to shedding tears the same way they look forward to their next meal”.[3]

pic by hipandthigh.wordpress.com

Adult people who cannot cry or express their pain are considered dangerous or ill as they have lost the connection with their emotional side.

“It takes millions of tears to produce a flood capable of washing the dead to the realm of the ancestors, so refraining from weeping wrongs the dead. Rhythm and chanting crack open that part of the self that holds grief under control. But grief unleashed without the help of ritual drummers, musicians, and chanters runs the risk of producing another death. It is a force without a container. To the dead, it is useless energy, like food that is wasted while people go hungry. […] When activated, emotion has a ceiling it must reach. At its apex, grief turns the body into a vessel of chaos. But it is just such a climatic chaos that can cleanse both the person and his or her spirit”.[4]

According to many esoteric traditions, after the death of the physical body, the etheric and other subtler egoic bodies try to survive by exploiting any available source (for example drawing energy from the decomposition of its physical body or from the mourning of relatives). The custom of offering candles or flowers is often a reflection of the above awareness. Cremation is by some tradition considered ideal in order to accelerate the release of the above bodies.

pic by mysticmama.com

Sickness and death may be painful, indeed, but what makes them problematic is that they are shameful to the ego. This is the same shame that we feel when caught out of role, as when a bishop is discovered picking his nose or a policeman weeping. For the ego is the role, the ‘act’, that one’s inmost self is permanent, that it is in control of the organism, and that while it ‘has’ experiences it is not involved in them. Pain and death expose this pretense, and this is why suffering is almost always attended by a feeling of guilt, a feeling that is all the more difficult to explain when the pretense is unconscious. Hence the obscure but powerful feeling that one ought not to suffer or die…

Absence and Presence by Franco Santoro

pic by google.com

You are sad, and perhaps even desperate, because of his/her absence.

Yet, despite her/his absence, you cannot help being aware of his/her presence.

In the absence, which is also presence, a mystery is celebrated.

The first part of the mystery can be very sad and most desperate.

For you realise that there is no chance for the presence that preceded the absence to come back.

I don’t know how long the first part will last, yet you can rest assured that it will come to an end.

The presence, which you feel in the absence, will grow.

It will feed on the absence, till there is no absence left.

Then presence will be all there is.

Moon in Scorpio – The truth will set you free

The Moon in Scorpio finally lifts the veil of self-denial and will make you look at all that you been hiding for too long. No excuses, no way out. It is real, it is raw and it wants to be seen. Scorpio energy is a very powerful force to transform your life for the better. Or for the worse, that is completely up to you and your final resistance of letting go. It is all in or all out, if you play the game or not.

Your greatest enemy these days is your own shadow and it will follow you wherever you go. No longer we can say that we were blinded by the light but the unspoken wants to be told, the suppressed wants to set free and the dark is waiting for your call.

We might feel very drawn to the occult, mystic and all that is hidden and somehow forbidden these days. The desire to explore, cut open and honestly see what is there is not for the weak. Only the brave will find strength through the Scorpio Moon days while the others will play the game of hide and seek. You might feel like running away to places you have never been before only to escape the finger that is pointing at you.

Asking, questioning why you doing this or that? And when you finally will change?

If we want it or not, these few days in Scorpio Moon again will bring to the surface what we brushed off, washed away or just denied along the way. It is that uncomfortable feeling of something is not quite right, paired up with the power of “I will find out what that is!” Yes, exactly no time for playing the victim but taking back our power. Rage if you have to, break out, up or free if you need to and furthermore…finally..finally cut away what no longer serves you.

The Scorpio is a deep-thinker and even more a dig-deeper into the hidden truth of the darkest moments.

What is it that you hide from yourself? What is it that you don’t want to tell anyone? What is it that makes you cry, angry or even hate when you look into the mirror? Who are you when you release the social mask you wear all day? What if you stop playing the game of false kindness and replace it with truthfulness?

Scorpio Moon days are very intense and won’t let any stone unturned, we are searching for something and we are convinced we will find it. No time for false play, time wasting conversations or a talk about the weather. We want it all and we want it now. The Scorpio knows about his power and is ready to use it. If that use of power and control is for the best of others or the worse depends on the integrity we have within ourselves. If we have worked through our shadows then we will not fear the dark but if we still shallow and superficial than these days will remind us what is really important.

If we can we should avoid any arguments these days and use the Scorpio energy for integration of parts within ourselves. Offence is the best defence the Scorpio claims and shows us his sting sometimes far to soon. Personal attacks are more likely and we can try just to face another direction than get hit on the other cheek as well. So if we seek for some peace and quiet best is to stay away from people and retreat a while for ourselves. To make the best use of this energy we should dive deeper not swim wider into the unknown of the open sea.

Scorpio is often associated with death and transformation and even it doesn’t literally mean physical death it definitely brings up some fundamental questions and fears. What if we don’t have the power? How can we accept things as they are? What happens if we die? How I am dealing with my human vulnerability?

Physical

On a more physical level Scorpio in Moon rules the sexual organs and the ureter. It is important that we prevent ourselves of getting cold feet or sit on cold or wet surfaces.

We might also feel a heightened sexuality during those days and should find ways to live and express those desires. Sexual energy can be a very powerful and creative force to give birth to the hidden aspects of ourselves. Painting, writing but any creative process that activates the inspiration from within are very good on these days.

Scorpio Moon days are stated as water days which not only means that is very beneficial to drink a lot of clean and fresh water. But also the air will be full of “hidden” moist and that can creep deep down into our bones, so even its a sunny day, don’t underestimate the Scorpio with its hidden aspects.

Pregnancy

Women who are pregnant should avoid any kind of efforts or stress these days as miscarriages are more likely during this period of time.

Collect Herbs

Its a very good time to collect any kind of herbs for storage. Alternative treatments that deal with problems around the bladder, ureter and sexual organs are very beneficial on Scorpio Moon Days.

Herbs that are good for the kidneys and ureter to flush through and cleanse are:

  • Parsley
  • Dandelion Root
  • Marshmallow
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Celery

We might also feel drawn to self-destructive behaviour, angry or doubting thoughts are highlighted in that phase. Observe yourself during the process, get in touch with your higher self and ask for some guidance. But don’t suppress the truth seeking energy of Scorpio days as there is truth in his words, a power in his search and meaning to its actions. Clarity. Honesty. Transformation.

At the end only the truth will set you free, could be a great motto for Scorpio days – make use of it.
