Why being honest is so important

You know I like honesty and it is really important for me. For a long time I thought that all people do live by these kind of principles as they are common sense. Furthermore there are many world religions or other spiritual teachings that highlight the importance of honesty as a main principle for our every day life and still we fail massively in our practice of honesty.

google.com

Buddhism for example includes in its spiritual practices that we should not steal from others and also speak no words that harm. I am not sure if they realised that being honest sometimes can piss people off even if we didn’t intent to do so. Sometimes telling the truth can feel more like a slap into the face rather than receiving a bunch of beautiful flowers.

Being honest is not about pleasing everybody but its also not about hurting anyone by purpose either. It is about the right to be yourself and about bringing clarity into your life. I do believe that being honest is something that I do want to claim for myself.

I have the right to be honest and so have you.

google.com

I do offer honesty to my friends and I expect honesty in return. This is how it works for me without all these unspoken words.

I am not scared or afraid if the truth does hurt me because I am able to deal with it. If not, well I will learn to incorporate that into my life as well.

How often do we swallow what we actually want to say to someone?

How often do we hold back just to keep the harmony while there is a war inside of us?

How often has dishonesty lead to more problems than being honest in the first place?

Let’s just keep in mind that there are different ways of being honest and different reasons too.

google.com

To tell someone that they might hurt you or you don’t feel like hanging out with someone or spend time with them is not a crime. It is your right to set honest boundaries that work for you. It is your right to say – you hurt me. It is your right to say – I don’t like hanging out with you because…

Honesty doesn’t make you a lot of friends but it will keep you the right ones. Honesty will take you to places of more clarity and understanding of yourself but also of others.

We live in a fake smile society where everything is been left unsaid, wrapped up in something to hide it or we get shouted at. If we would have learnt to express honestly what we feel in the first place it would not have come to the point where we need to shout at each other to get heard.

google.com

If we had the balls to be honest and not lose our dignity nor make others lose theirs the world could be a better place. If we straight point out what the matter is and not hold back than the others know what is going on with us. This offers the opportunity to others to apologize if they did something wrong or to make an effort to change things that are not right.

Honesty offers space for improvement.

Instead we expect people to sense what we think or feel. And as an empath you feel a lot, sometimes more than you want to. This might also be part of the problem why I do like honesty so much. Then I don’t need to constantly ask myself what I have done wrong to others because the energy feels strange suddenly. And if you ask they say that everything is okay when it isn’t anyway. You know what, I am tired of that. Its a waste of time.

google.com

I feel drained by all this fake smiles and holding back of real feelings. Honesty brings clarity into your life and into the life of others. If you honesty say what the matter is or what you feel at least its out there and not inside of you. Where it slowly penetrates deeper and deeper into your subconsciousness and creates a life of its own. This is how negative shit comes about and eats you up.

You can be honest and kind at the same time. But to be honest requires a lot of training and skills and you will not always win the situation. We need to brave to be honest. Pointing out honestly what is wrong in our lives can be a very painful but eye opening process. To put the finger honestly where the wound is and acknowledging we might don’t know how to put it right. Yeah, that requires a lot of strength and often we not quite sure we have enough of it. Because we so easily pretend that we know how to fix everything or just like overseeing what is going wrong.

Sooner or later the truth will get you anyway. It will chase you like shadow even in the night. It will crawl into your dreams to remind you that something is not quite right. It doesn’t need to be that way, there are few things you can bring into your life and practice to be more honest to yourself and others.

1. Be honest about how you feel without feeling guilty.

Emotions are only temporary and also can be influenced by other people or our surrounding. The moment we are honest about how we feel it most likely will dissappear anyway. That might takes the edge of the drama already anyway.

2. Don’t stay quiet just to keep the harmony.

Nothing is more self-destructive than not speaking up when we really want to. Often we just don’t want to end up in an argument. We totally forget that sometimes releasing that amount of energy is important to break through to the next level – especially in relationships.

3. The truth doesn’t need to be delivered in a nasty way.

You can always be honest and be kind at the same time. It’s not your problem how other people receive your honesty but theirs. People don’t like to be told only to be praised but if you are honest that might not the case. Keep in mind that you want to be honest not mean – get that skill and keep your integrity and others too.

4. Being honest is a rare skill.

Yes being honest is a skill that requires a lot of training and might bring you into ackward moments but that is life. The less you fear to be who you really are and that includes living honestly the stronger you will get within yourself.

5. Honesty will open and close doors.

Stop living in the illusion that honesty gets you everywhere. It will take you to new places for sure, it will lead to different places and some of them you didn’t mean to end up. Be honest anyway. In long long term honesty will attract the right people and opportunities into your life.

6. Honesty brings clarity!

Yes it is true, if you honest about how you feel, what you want or what you think it will improve your life. Slowly but steady honesty will clarify what is important to you.

google.com

7. Explore when to speak up and when to keep quiet.

There is a fine line of being honest and keeping quiet and you will learn when to use what. Sometimes even if we are honest with others nothing will change, this is a good indication that we need to check with ourselves. It might be time to walk away from a situation or person that doesn’t listen, care or make the effort to change. At least then be honest to yourself.

8. Honesty destroys illusions.

Yes, that’s is what is going to happen. No more denial, no more pretending, just straight to the point. And finally we so easily can take it from there.

9. Be honest – make life of an empath better.

You know how many people really can sense when someone is lying? And how many empaths even do keep that to themselves and don’t point it out? Instead they suffer silently because they don’t even want to create more pain.

10. Being honest will release unnecessary cause of suffering in your life.

By being honest with others but also with yourself you erase a lot of worries and negative feelings from your life. Because you no longer pretend to be someone you are not. How freeing is that?

google.com

But most important maybe is that we also offer others the space to be honest. So others don’t feel intimidated by us but also grab the chance to be honest with us. Learning to calmly receive what others have to say without putting up our walls is another skill that we will need to learn in our honesty practice.

Let’s just keep it simple – and real, so the rest can fall into place.

So much love!!!!

How Tooth Decay Affects the entire Body (video)

Did you know that tooth pain is not only a sign that something might be wrong with your teeth but also that it can be linked to your organs? Have you ever heard that digestive problems, a trapped nerve in the shoulder can also lead to incredible tooth pains?

Did you know there is a close connection between every tooth in your mouth and the organs in your body? Unfortunately not many western dentists have this holistic approach yet and far to often the patient receives the wrong treatment. Instead of pulling a tooth out we might need to take a closer look and understand that tooth pain is only an expression of an imbalance in our body. In addition to that tooth pain can affect many other areas in our body and cause a lot of problems.

To gain a better understanding of the connection our teeth and our organs, the Meridian tooth Chart is very helpful. It might save us a long and painful visit at the dentist when we are able to understand how and why tooth pain has appeared in the first place.

November 2017 in Chinese Astrology

When the metal-pig meets the fire-rooster

google.com

The dog was kind enough to prepare us for the next season. He retires now to hand over the new month and the new season to his successor. Starting from 07 November 2017, 05:36h GMT, the metal-pig will be in charge of assisting the fire-rooster.

We know the pig as an amiable, sweet-tempered, peace-loving, helpful, tolerant, honest and trustworthy creature. This is how we can describe the positive side of the one who rules over this month. We are likely to also see and feel distinct optimism in any situation of life and we can quite often enjoy a wonderful generosity. Preferably standing on the bright side of life the pig is absolutely not resistant to all forms of fun and pleasure. We may even find him indulging in ostentatious lifestyles.
The pig is a straightforward being that speaks his mi
nd clearly and unmistakably and it drives him mad whenever he has to face fraud and deviousness.

peta.com

The pig has learnt so many things in life but the meaning of the two letters that form the word ‘no’ has never been committed to his memory. This can lead to awkward situations that can have a negative effect on the pig’s mood, the pig’s bank account and/or the pig’s outer appearance. Offering criticism on the morning after the night before will definitely drive all members of that sign mad.

google.com

The metal-pig is more determined and more ambitious than the other types of ‘pigs’. He loves to be busy, he loves to be involved, in business matters as well as in private meetings. He is warmhearted and has a good sense of humour. He is open, speaks his mind bluntly but can be too trustworthy at times with the tendency of accepting things at face value.

google.com

To make the most of this month we should build on our skills, consider new activities and joyfully accept new possibilities that open up. With a bold approach we can benefit now and build a strong foundation for future endeavours.

Time now to look at all signs of the zodiac to find out what might come next:

Pig(*) (1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007):
Birds of a feather flock together. Keep that in mind and act accordingly
, there are certain situations you can benefit greatly from. Especially when you take special care of your own family. Good fortune is foreseen in family affairs and business ventures.

Rat(*) (1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008):
Do not really try to achieve anything, restrict yourself to planning. Use the time wisely
to rest, to regain strength and to power up your own system. Be ready when the next month comes in which you can put your plans into action.

Ox(*) (1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009):
Both your family and your business keep you busy. The workload increases, all affairs have to be dealt with. This may sound like hard work but it can also be very motivating and stimulating. New contacts can lead to new opportunities you can benefit from.

Tiger(*) (1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010):
The pig, tiger’s best friend, sees to it that this month will have a lot of goodies in store. Expect good business, happiness, good luck and contentment. You can enjoy the finer things in life if you refrain from overspending or overextending.

Rabbit
(*) (1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011):
Expect a favourable month now that one of your allies has joined you this month. Enjoy the good things in life, emotional security, and social contentment. Keep your feet on the ground and do not reach for those stars that are unreachable.

Dragon(*) (1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012):
Life becomes more stable, last month’s challenges are a thing of the past. Work tends to be mundane, slow, or even a bit frustrating, so take the opportunity to light entertainment and amusing recreation. Be very cautious in financial matters, it can cost you dearly to spend money on the wrong things.

Snake(*) (1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013):
Achievements will stay within limits, matters may not work out as originally planned. Play it cool and do not force things. Your natural opponent, the pig, keeps you on a short leash. Continue planning and wait for the next month to act on your plans.

Horse(*) (1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014):
Difficulties at work and misunderstandings can delay success. In addition to that there might be some unfavourable circumstances. Spend
ing money should be done wisely, definitely not on luxuries. At least not this month.

Goat(*) (1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015):
A very beneficial month lies ahead, the good times are back. Good fortune is foreseen in all areas of private life and business life. Be bold, be daring, you have everything to gain.

Monkey(*) (1908, 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016):
Even if your plans may be thwarted or delayed business advancements, travels or even a change of residence are in stock for you. So why not enjoy the improvements you can make this month?!

Rooster(*) (1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017):
There may be additional work for you, challenging responsibilities or minor setbacks in your career. Deal with all matters mindfully and do, what has to be done. But not more. It pays to be considerate, realistic and not innovative.

Dog(*) (1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006):
Expect a peaceful and calm month. Focus more on your family than on your business
affairs. An extended circle of friends and new acquaintances and can lead to new opportunities and to new ventures.

When it comes to short-ranged projects they should not be started on 14 November 2017 and not on 26 November 2017. Regarding long-ranged projects we have to step back on 12 November 2017, 24 November 2017.

Again there is another day that is void of supporting energy. It is good enough to survive but not good enough to do anything of significance: 07 November 2017.

May we all benefit from new ideas, may we be bold enough for new approaches.

(*) for this kind of analysis we work with the solar calendar. With a satisfying accuracy we can say that all years start on 04 February. This means that e.g. a person born on 31 January 1983 is born in the year of the dog as the year of the pig starts on 04 February 1983. In consultations I certainly work with the exact dates and times.

Sensitive Souls – Dr. Dan L. Edmunds

There were those who began as sensitive souls.

Such could be a blessing and a curse. They felt everything deeply but it caused them great fear. This overwhelming anxiety was quelled by a substance. The results were initially amazing and thus the sensitive soul continued to indulge.

pic by drugabuse.com

Their misguided idealism now became shattered expectations and loss of any sense of hope. The fears intensified. If they were working, they were afraid. If they were not working, they were afraid. If they were in a relationship they were afraid of losing themselves. If they were not in a relationship they feared being alone. And though at times there may have been many around they remained alone in the tumult of their thoughts. They saw no purpose and some began to seek it in a distant realm falsely believing it would be found.

pic by jeffersonpublicradio.com

But purpose is not found but created and it is not in expectations or grand feats but in simplicity. A simple smile, a kind gesture. Here the sensitive soul can turn the curse to blessing and such sensitivity can move from absorbing pain and focus on self to a concern for the other and a sharing in their experience.

As one comes to find a connection to others and a connection to virtue, they find a greater understanding and much becomes revealed. They may ask for the removal of their faults but realize such is not a magical incantation or demand but requires action.

Prostitute – Leaking

So insecure in the world
that I often feel the need
to sell out myself in order to survive.

This integrity is for sale,
but not so cheap today
because I’m feeling fine
and my worth is determined
by my state of need
and is subject to change.

There is some safety in this self-negation,
and there is pleasure to be found in pleasing the world.
Although fulfilling feelings through giving esteem away
is only a short-term fix for keeping neediness at bay.

The Poetry of Archetypes are written by Sulaiman Mackay

Sulaiman Mackay is a lifelong lover of writing poetry and has been particularly enamored with it since arriving at middle-age. He has realized it is a powerfully evocative and revealing means of self discovery and conscious development. He started writing poems about archetypes as a way of expressing his inner work, discovering the light and shadow aspects of his psyche, and to explore the energetics of the archetypal experience. He has recently completed an Honours Degree in Creative Communications at the University of Canberra and is currently looking for a way to turn his love for the written word into paid work.

Encountering Astroshamanism by Franco Santoro

The first of two pieces on astroshamanism, a type of shamanism related to astrology.

By Franco Santoro

I often like to see this world as a place where we come to find out who we are. We continue to come until we are willing to accept and release what we assume to be and who we truly are. To be alive, without knowing who I am, is a bit like being dead, since living involves being aware of whom is indeed living.

lionsroar.com

Ignorance and denial about who I am does not change the nature of my true identity, but it does split the mind into two parts – one that knows the truth and the other that does not know or denies it. And it is this split that astroshamanism, along with many other paths, is drawn to address and cure.

Astroshamanism identifies a form of spiritual healing based on the integration of shamanism with sacred astrology, ancient mystery teachings and more traditional religious paths. Astroshamanism is merely a term that allows me to classify this work, yet what counts is its content.

pic by pinterest.com

Central in this work is the ongoing release of conditioned ideas regarding who we believe ourselves to be. This release gives access to an area of unknowing, where we can unveil a direct experience of our nature. Most shamans and seekers concur that this process involves letting go of our perception of the separated self. This separation appears to be the ultimate cause of human sufferance, so we support the reawakening of our original united self, which many religious cultures describe as God.

For many people the term “God” has lost interest and in some cases it even produces strong resistance. In certain situations it is awkward to mention “God,” since this can easily give wrong impressions and cause prejudices. This is probably because some concepts of God trigger fear, guilt, and judgment. “God” is merely a term, which can take other names and forms, and even no name or form at all. What counts here is the direct experience of God, and of our true nature devoid of any assumption.

I believe that what most people on a spiritual quest seek today are not mere formalities, doctrines or creeds, but paths of direct experience. They search for a first-hand knowledge of their true self, or a direct encounter and communion with God. This is what shamanic work can offer and it is also the authentic essence of what most spiritual traditions pursue.

Journeying through the unseen

In his second article on astroshamanism Franco Santoro tells how the zodiac can be used…

By Franco Santoro

Astroshamanism provides a map and tools for journeying through the path of life in search of Truth. This is acted out by using a strategic cosmology based on 12 sectors. The sectors are associated with the astrological signs when used as representations of the fragmented parts of our nature.

pic by pinterest.com

The 12 sectors portray the entire range of human potentials and possibilities that the astroshamanic seeker accepts to acknowledge, explore and integrate in their original unity. They are pathways of deep understanding about all the features in life. They include the highest and the lowest forms, and their aim is to teach us how to express them at their best.

In astroshamanism the zodiac is not used for horoscope readings or other forms of interpretation, but is explored through pragmatic healing actions and spiritual practices aimed at providing a direct experience and tangible results.

Astrology is probably the oldest form of symbolic language and shamanism is the most ancient method of healing. The distinctive feature of shamans is represented by their familiarity with states of consciousness that allows them to explore the spiritual dimension of reality and to help their community, themselves and their planet. To face these journeys, shamans connect with healing guides, spirits, angels and ultimately God. The relationship with this unseen world is the chief distinctive feature of shamanic cultures and constitutes one of the main tasks of astroshamanism.

pic by astroshamanism.org

The connection with the unseen realms, far from being an evasion from everyday reality, is aimed at healing our visible world. I cannot see God or spirits with my physical eyes, but I can see them through other human beings and the environment, when I decide to lay my prejudices aside and meet them as they truly are. By unveiling their nature, God will be embodied in them and I will uncover their essence.

As I learn to acknowledge God through them, I will also learn to become aware of how God operates in me. In exploring the mystery of the unseen realms and God, or whatever name, we use to describe That.

pic by redbubble.com

What this work basically underlines is the healing function of forgiveness. Forgiveness is learning to perceive all relationships as a proof of our sacred original nature, rather than as sources of grievances. It is about letting go of the garbage I have projected on others, which in the end is the same garbage I have projected on myself.

The common ground of addiction – Dr. Dan L. Edmunds

Some have endured trauma, others have not. Some have been poor and oppressed, others were born into privilege and had a high level of freedom. Some struggled with learning, some were highly educated.

But addiction arose regardless.

And what was it that they shared in common?

Other than being human, it was discontent, lack of meaning and purpose, and an overwhelming angst leading to that desire to control the uncontrollable.

And for those who overcome, what did they have in common?

An enlightenment of the mind, a reframing of thought, gratitude for each moment, a heart of service, an endurance in struggle, hope with realism, a communion with the other, a willingness to ride the waves of life rather than fight them, using angst as a motivator for what can be changed rather than being overwhelmed and bewildered in thought.
